Troop 308 has been active for 70 years and has a proud history of helping boys become well-rounded young men.
Every Tuesday at 7:30p at FUMC Family Life Center, you will find 45-85 scouts working on Merit Badges, planning camp outs and service projects. Troop 308 has a proud legacy of not only helping young men reach the rank of Eagle, but also helping our community through service to others.
Our Scoutmaster is Dr. Edwin Morrison. He has been active in scouting for more than 45 years. The Waco Tribune had some nice words to say about him and Mrs. Morrison. Link to Article
With more than 130 Merit Badges—from Archery and Art to Welding and Wilderness Survival—Scouting is the ultimate form of learning by doing. Boy Scouts explore their interests and improve their skills while working toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle. By first imagining, planning then doing their own service projects, Boy Scouts learn the value of hard work, and experience the thrill of seeing it pay off. Add in outdoor adventures, hiking and camping, and Scouting gives boys all the experience they need to become men.
Boy Scout Troop 308 has been active for 68 year and is chartered by the First United Methodist Church of Waco, Texas. Our troop camps once a month and participates in high adventure camping each summer.
If you would like to join Troop 308, come to one of our meetings. Troop meetings are held every Tuesday from 7:30p-8:30p during the school year. We meet at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, located at 4901 Cobbs.
